Easter Easter

Easter – the time for Easter rabbits, chocolate eggs and a couple of days off work?

Easter is the most important event in the world: on this day, Jesus Christ died and rose again.

About 4000 years passed between the Fall of Adam and Eve and the birth of Jesus.

In this time there were around 100 at times very concrete prophecies about the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus.

Jesus preached, healed the sick and declared himself as the Son of God.
He publicly criticized the Pharisees and the temple elders. Many religious people therefore wanted him to be killed.

They accused him of blasphemy, through the betrayal of Judas.
But only the ruling Romans were able to sentence him to death.

Yet neither the governor Pilate nor King Herod wanted to have him crucified.
Pilate was afraid of a people’s rebellion and let the people decide themselves.

Thus Jesus was put to death on our Good Friday like a thief and murderer by means of the worst method of killing.

As he died, three hours of darkness fell over the entire land.

The curtain in the holiest temple tore from the top to the bottom, the earth began to shake, graves opened. Many saints who had died appeared in Jerusalem.

Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead. He stayed on the earth for 40 days and appeared to over 500 people.

Why did Jesus have to die?

Through the Fall of Adam and Eve, the Devil brought sin into the world.

It is so evil and destructive that it not only infected the two of them and enslaved them; it also did the same to every person who came after them.

Sin kills the spirit in man, brings death, fear and oppression. We can no longer communicate with God.

It is impossible to lead a holy life, or to understand God or even the Bible.

That was the Devil’s plan. The only one who could save us was God.

Even before the creation of the earth, Jesus and God knew that Jesus would be sentenced and killed. (Hebrews 2:14): “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.”

Jesus died on the cross for us and took all sins of the world onto himself.

Jesus died for us

Jesus has already done everything for you so that you can have a relationship with God.

You only need to believe in him. This is the biggest decision you will ever have to make.

Pray loudly and with faith:

“Jesus, I confess that you are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God has resurrected you from the dead. I believe in your word, and therefore I will now receive salvation. I thank you for saving me.”

At that moment when you chose to receive Jesus, a new spirit came into you. You were reborn and saved.

This is the first moment in your new life.

What now?

“The New You & The Holy Spirit" is available as book and will help you to understand what you have just chosen and what is still to come for you.
The brochure “Easter” will take you even further into this event.
