Faith Faith

Without faith it is impossible to be saved by God.

To be saved we have to give witness with our mouths that Jesus is our Lord. In our heart we have to believe that God brought Jesus back from the dead.

When we do that we are saved.

So what is faith?

The simplest answer is: faith is our answer to God. It is the way that we receive God’s grace without ever having earned it.

A verse from the chapter Ephesians gives us part of the answer: “We need both grace and faith to receive God’s promise. God has already saved us all by grace, but we must also believe – having faith - in him to be saved.”, says Andrew Wommack.

The Bible says in Ephesians 2:8: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” So faith is a gift of God.

We cannot buy it by doing well, for example. We must accept it as a gift from God.

How can we believe?

Access is given through the Bible, God’s Word. In that moment when we decide to believe in the good news of the Bible, we are saved.

And in that moment great changes occur in our innermost being.

We receive a new spirit in us, and it is one with God’s Holy Spirit. Once again we have a relationship with God.

The Holy Spirit in us produces constant faith. And that’s forever; it is always accessible, regardless of where we are.

As soon as we believe in God, the size of the faith does not matter. Even faith the size of a mustard seed can bring about miracles.

If we believe in our heart in the Bible, we will also recognize the miracles around us.

But if we decide against God and do not believe in his good news, then even learning the Bible by heart will not help us.

Everything is possible through faith. For Jesus says in Matt. 17,20: “For verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”

And in Mark 11,24:” Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

But faith cannot achieve anything that God does not allow us in his grace. Subsequently, we cannot rob a bank through faith.

We also cannot bring God to do those things for us that he has given us to do.
God will not resist the Devil for us. Jesus conquered him on the cross through his death and has given us authority over the Devil.

When we subject ourselves to God and resist the Devil, we will see him for what he really is: a conquered enemy.
