My becoming a christian

My becoming a christian

At 34 years of age, I, Robert Bühler, wanted more from life. I searched for lasting values and deep, genuine love.

Questions tormented me: “Where do I come from? Why am I here? What happens after death? Does life make any sense at all?”

Innumerable attempts and disappointed hopes in sport, in love and esoterics lay behind me. I was so fed up.

One evening I sent a request out into the universe via my thoughts: “I just want to know once and for all why I’m here. Why people exist at all.”

The next few weeks were different. At work I met businessmen who believed in Jesus. They lived differently, had different viewpoints. One business partner wrote me a letter – with quotes from the Bible.

So I read the Bible. It made for tiresome reading; nothing made sense.

Suddenly I came across Romans 7:15: “For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that I do.”

I was familiar with these thoughts. I knew then and there in my heart: “The Bible is true.”

Looking back I know that I found Jesus then. Two weeks later I gave my life over to Jesus with the following prayer: “Jesus, I confess that you are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God has resurrected you from the dead. I believe in your word, and therefore I will now receive salvation.”

After I had spoken the prayer with conviction, I was completely changed – as if I had been exchanged from within. A burden weighing a ton had fallen from my heart. I felt free; all guilt had been forgiven me.

Ever since, my life has been turned on its head – an exchanged life! I am no longer a solitary, guilty egotist and I feel genuine joy in my life.

Jesus has given each and every one of us a valuable and eternal life. He offers us a personal and deep loving relationship. Do you feel it? Do you feel the truth?

Let Jesus into your heart and speak the following prayer from your heart.
